Becoming a Guide Dog involves hard work, a lot of time and extensive training.
At Bayleys, we admire that kind of dedication and so in April 2004 we decided to become the Principal Sponsor of Guide Dog Services. We made a commitment involving all of New Zealand's Bayleys branches - and their energetic, enthusiastic staff - aiming to raise $1 Million in 3 years.
Since then Bayleys offices around the country have helped to raise over $1,200,000 for the Royal New Zealand Foundation of the Blind's Guide Dog Services and funded over 30 dogs so far! What a fantastic effort; only 2 years into the sponsorship and we have already reached our three year goal.
Bayleys staff have eagerly and energetically fundraised through events varying widely from charity and art auctions through to Dogs Day Out, and fishing competitions through to corporate breakfasts. But there has also been fantastic support for both the National Guide Dog Appeal Collection and the RNZFB's Annual Blind Week collection held each year, by Bayleys stasff around the country donating their time as volunteer collectors.
Bayleys Waiheke, Titirangi and North West Auckland have raised enough money to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy and have named her Winnie.
